Taylor Russell McKenzie was conceived in Vancouver, British Columbia on July 18 on the 18th of July 1994. She was also raised in Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal. [1][2] Russell, who was born to an African-American father and a white mother, is biracial and grew up with her mother's family. Her skin color made her feel unaccepted when she was a teenager. The family struggled financially. They were always moving and moved sixteen times to support her father's work. In spite of this, Russell mentioned how in her early years "there always was a chance for reinventing yourself, creating something new."As growing up, Russell was already artistically at first. she would like to pursue a career in ballet and later to become an artist. It was when she was 18 that she started her first acting class. She borrowed money from her work to buy an automobile and travel to Los Angeles to audition. When the money ran out she would return to work until she earned enough income to audition again. It went on for four consecutive years, until she finally secured her first TV role on television.
